Competition Gymnastics at Mt. Magnolia Academy

Our Competition Xcel Program is designed for athletes who are ready to take their gymnastics training to the next level. The Xcel program, governed by USA Gymnastics, offers five competitive divisions — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Diamond — each with its own set of skill and difficulty requirements. Athletes compete on four apparatuses: vault, bars, beam, and floor, meeting division-specific requirements from the Xcel Code of Points.

Participation in our competitive program is by invitation only and requires a commitment to regular training, dedication to skill development, and a strong team spirit.

Xcel Bronze (Invitation Only)

Ages: 6–14
Xcel Bronze is the first competitive division in the Xcel program. It focuses on building confidence in competition, mastering foundational skills, and introducing athletes to the structure of competitive gymnastics.
Athletes learn and perform required skills for each event (except vault) while gaining experience performing in front of judges and audiences.

Xcel Silver (Invitation Only)

Ages: 8–15
Xcel Silver is the second competitive division, offering increased difficulty and skill variety. Athletes build on their Bronze-level skills with more advanced combinations, improved execution, and greater artistry on each apparatus. The focus is on refining technique and developing consistency in competition.

Xcel Gold, Platinum & Diamond (Invitation Only)

Ages: 8–19
These advanced competitive divisions are designed for highly skilled athletes who have progressed through the lower levels and are ready for more complex skills, higher difficulty, and increased performance demands. Gold introduces intermediate-to-advanced skills, Platinum raises the level of difficulty and artistry, and Diamond represents the pinnacle of the Xcel program with elite-level performance requirements.
